Tributes Paid to Mrs Janet Sheed Roberts

10 April 2012

It is with great sadness that I tell you that Mrs Janet Sheed Roberts (neé Gordon) died peacefully at her home near the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown over the Easter weekend.

Born in the Schoolhouse in the Cabrach on 13th August 1901, she was the last surviving grandchild of our founder, William Grant, and at 110 the oldest lady in Scotland.  We extend our deepest sympathy to the Grant and Gordon families at this sad time.

As many of you will know, we celebrated her 110th birthday last year by releasing the rarest ever bottling of Glenfiddich; just 11 bottles of the Glenfiddich Janet Roberts Reserve are available worldwide. To date, four of these bottles have been sold at auction with all proceeds going to charity.

The remaining bottles will be auctioned throughout the year ensuring that Mrs Roberts’ legacy continues.
